RADwood Norcal: A Period correct Cars & Coffee for the enthusiast

As you might already know, the Team at HRB has a deep passion and love for BMW, and most of our projects are based around the 90s and 80s era BMW platforms. We had the chance to attend this year's RADwood event in the Bay Area; we expected a large attendance of BMW as some people consider this the golden age of BMW design. We encountered a vibrant community of people looking to enjoy their passion together.

Many people might wonder what RADwood is and how it came to be? RADwood looks to celebrate the 80's and 90's car culture. A time of flamboyance flashiness and exhuberance. Attendees are encouraged to wear period-correct attire to bring the correct vibe to the event. I expected to encounter a large amount of perfectly finished show cars. Still, variety ensued from actual show cars to daily drivers and vehicles that people enjoy daily. Just what Berformance is all about.

It also brought people from all cultures and ages, including known Youtubers such as John Ficarra. He is well known for his appearance in VINwiki and the acclaimed CarTrek Youtube series; he showed off his six-wheeled Range Rover as a spectacle to behold.

John Ficarra’s Range Rover creation

The show included all sorts of builds, from track specials to authentic supercars that probably experience more polish than sunlight. BMWs of the era were abundant, from our beloved 3-series platforms to 5-series models, demonstrating that the love and appreciation for these vehicles is alive, and growing both with old and newer audiences; we have a word for this...Berformance. People are daring to be different and express their passion, and we will continue to support it in whatever way we can.

We would love to bring some of our fleet vehicles to the show next year and show some exciting products that we currently have in the pipeline.

We would love to hear from you if you attended Was it RAD enough?
